What 5 years on “Hormone Replacement Therapy” Does to a Teenage girl…

REMEMBER (especially when voting): Virtually EVERY elected Democrat supports the EVIL imposed on this young lady!

Parents: Protect your children from the cult of transgenderism! And regularly tell them the truth about it!

On Gun Control and Mental Health, Who Gets to Decide Who’s Crazy?

The latest bi-partisan “gun control” legislative proposal reeks of “Do-Somethingism.” Again, given the rampant disasters wrought from the numerous foolish policies enacted due to our bout with COVID-19, we should’ve learned our lesson on “Do-Somethingism.” Give Democrats—and their like-minded enablers—a “crisis” and you’re almost certainly guaranteed a catastrophic Big Government “solution.”

Inevitably, such “solutions” do almost nothing to solve the problems they were meant to solve, and instead burden tens-of-millions of Americans with a host of new problems that are often much worse than the original “problem.” Again, see the COVID scamdemic. If signed into law—and Biden has said he will sign it—almost certainly the new “gun control” legislation proposed by ten democrats and ten republicans will prove about as useful as most of the anti-COVID-19 measures enacted throughout the U.S. the past two-plus years.

And like the near-useless anti-COVID-19 policies, this new “gun control” legislation will do virtually nothing to solve the problem intended—mass shootings—and instead will create a myriad of new problems for innocent Americans. In the statement released describing what’s in the legislation (see previous link), much of the focus of the bill is on “mental health.”

Additionally, the legislation seems to incentivize U.S. states to enact “red flag” laws. Under the heading entitled “Intervention Orders,” the description of the legislation reads:

Provides resources to states and tribes to create and administer laws that help ensure deadly weapons are kept out of the hands of individuals whom a court has determined to be a significant danger to themselves or others, consistent with state and federal due process and constitutional protections.

A red flag law is a “gun control” law that permits police or individuals to petition a state court to order the removal of firearms “from a person who they believe may present a danger to others or themselves.” Nineteen states—almost all blue states—and the District of Columbia have some form of a red flag law.

As Tucker Carlson recently went into great detail to point out, there are huge problems with red flag laws:

First, red flag laws won’t end mass shootings. But red flag laws will end due process…Under red flag laws the government doesn’t have to prove you did anything wrong in order to strip you of your most basic rights. All that’s required to punish you is a complaint, possibly even an anonymous complaint, in which somebody says “you seem dangerous.” Now that complaint doesn’t come from a grand jury, it can come from anyone, including someone who hates you or someone who simply doesn’t like your politics…On the basis of that unproven complaint, you lose your freedom and your ability to defend yourself and your family.

In other words, who gets to decide who’s “dangerous?” Just a couple of years ago, Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell thought Ben Shapiro was a good example of why America needed red flag laws. Just as Americans should be very cautious when it comes to enacting red flag laws, Americans should also be very hesitant to embrace any legislation, school policy, and the like when it comes to “mental health” and “gun control.” Because, who gets to decide who’s crazy?

According to a recent (2019) study published in Psychiatry Research, “psychiatric diagnoses are scientifically worthless as tools to identify discrete mental health disorders.” This conclusion aligns well with what practicing psychotherapist Gary Greenburg has long said. Upon the release of the latest version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (the DSM 5) in early 2013, The Atlantic asked Dr. Greenburg, “Can you define mental illness?” His reply: “No. Nobody can.”

Dr. Greenburg says that not one of the disorders in the DSM is real. He claims that the DSM is nothing more than an exercise in rhetoric; an attempt to legitimize the practice of psychiatry. In a culture that is increasingly more hesitant to use the word “evil,” Dr. Greenburg concludes that having the American Psychiatric Association (who owns and publishes the DSM) classify certain behaviors as “disorders” is a way to remove the moral aspect behind certain behaviors.

We’ve seen this often with mass shootings. Inevitably, whenever one of these rare but horrific acts of evil takes place, words and phrases like “mentally disturbed,” “mentally ill,” “crazy,” “nut-job,” and “psycho,” are frequently tossed around. This is even done by well-meaning, and sometimes even biblically minded, conservatives.

I believe this is because sickness is much easier to deal with than evil. Sickness can be treated—or we can at least pretend, or look like, we’re treating it—often with expensive drugs and/or therapy (or masks and lockdowns!). When it comes to those who are financially vested in such things, sickness is good for business. However, dealing with evil requires that we define what is evil, and dealing with evil means that we sometimes must engage in matters in the spiritual realm.

Additionally, as we pervert what is sickness along with what is good and evil, what was once good and right can be something that needs to be cured or punished. So if you merely vote the “wrong” way, or attend the “wrong” protest, or say the “wrong” things, or refuse to support what someone else has determined is the “right” thing, you could find yourself on the wrong side of a court ruling when it comes to your guns.

We’ve seen this play out countless times when it comes cancel culture. Just this week, the NFL’s Washington Commanders (Redskins!) lightened the wallet of assistant coach Jack Del Rio to the tune of $100,000 simply because he didn’t tow the preferred (Democrat) line when it comes to the actions at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, and the numerous (criminal) riots in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

In other words, the NFL has decided what is “right” when it comes to January 6, 2021, and the George Floyd riots. And if you don’t stick to the (Democrat) narrative on these matters, you will be punished.

When it comes to courts taking our guns, many will say, “But we have the Second Amendment!” True, however, we’re a few Supreme Court Justices away from having that Amendment “interpreted” beyond recognition. Given the numerous vagaries when it comes to mental illness, and given the importance of gun ownership to a free nation, America simply can’t afford to have the courts tell us who’s “crazy” enough to have his guns taken away.

With COVID, We Should’ve Learned Our Lesson on “Do-Somethingism”

After the evil perpetuated at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, in a column entitled “Don’t Surrender To Do-Somethingism On Guns,” David Harsanyi at The Federalist is mostly correct when he writes, “Law-abiding Americans have no obligation to take ownership of a madman’s actions.” The only thing I take issue with in Mr. Harsanyi’s piece is in him referring to the Ulvalde mass murderer as a “madman.”

Again, when such events occur, we must be careful not to confuse evil with mental illness. Of course, “madman” doesn’t necessarily always refer to someone who is mentally ill, however, inevitably—even among those who should know better—whenever we have a mass shooting, a frequent and near immediate default assumption is that the perpetrator was mentally ill. Perhaps the Robb Elementary School murderer was mentally ill, but we don’t yet know that, and early indications are that he did not have a history involving mental illness.

What’s more, ascribing mental illness to the Robb Elementary murderer doesn’t help Mr. Harsanyi’s case. If someone who kills another human being is “mentally ill,” then it means something should have, or could have, been done to cure them, or protect others from them. As I noted in 2018 (see above link), after the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School massacre in Parkland, FL,

As our culture grows more and more secularized, it has become a very common practice to describe those who commit widespread acts of violence—especially if such violence involves the death of multiple human beings—as “crazy.” Some of this is tongue-in-cheek, but much of it is sincere. I believe this is the direct result of the psychiatric community attempting to redefine what is moral.

For decades we have witnessed the psychiatric community take acts that were long considered evil, or at least immoral and illegal, and deem them a “psychological disorder” that needs to be cured. It’s just good for business, I suppose.

In his essay, The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment, C.S. Lewis noted that, when it comes to crime and punishment, we too often are facing off with those who believe “that all crime is more or less pathological.” Thus, instead of the criminal “getting what he deserves”—what used to be called “justice”—we must heal or cure him, and, as Lewis puts it, “punishment becomes therapeutic.”

Additionally, when we refuse to simply call evil what it is, lawmakers—especially, but not exclusively, Democrats—feel emboldened to “do something” to “fix” the problem. After all, when politicians can paint themselves as part of “the solution,” it makes re-election more likely. If we learned anything from COVID-19, this should have been the lesson!

Shortly after COVID-19 entered the U.S., countless politicians across America were all too eager to act. Not that our government should have done nothing, however, as American leftists—as well as those throughout the world—well demonstrated, for most of us, their “cure” was indeed far worse than the disease.

Led by Anthony Fauci—one of the leading prophets of scientism of our time—and his ilk, millions of American individuals, and hundreds-of-thousands of American businesses, churches, and schools were duped into following—or worse: enthusiastically embracing—the “corona-communism” of the champions of Big Government in America.

The longer the charade played out, the more it became clear—as the data in schools, professional sports,  airplanes, Antarctic research stations, and the like revealed—that almost everything we did to “slow the spread,” including the “six feet” nonsense, was worthless and unnecessary. This is especially true of useless masks and foolish lockdowns.

These two highly destructive measures seemed—until the evil notion of vaccine mandates came along—to be the favorite of “do-somethingism” apologists throughout America and the world. For well over two years now, far too many Americans have lived under democrats devastating “do-somethingism” in the name of “public safety.” This is in spite of the mountains of evidence that point to the ineffectiveness of masks and lockdowns when it comes to controlling the spread of COVID-19.

Nevertheless, those beholden the Covid Cartel are still pushing masking and the like. This is true even in schools, where science has well demonstrated mandatory masking the most unnecessary, as well as the most destructive. It just goes to show that, once “do-somethingism” takes hold, it’s hard to get rid of!

If so many Americans weren’t susceptible to “do-somethingism,” the left wouldn’t continuously try—and often succeed with—it. And if they can’t accomplish their do-something wish list via legislation or executive order, the American left has often been able to rely on like-minded judges in U.S. courts. Tragically, many Americans simply want to be mothered, and the left is only too happy to play such a role.

The left’s “do-somethingism” on COVID-19 has destroyed countless lives and livelihoods. The damage is still being measured, and worse, still happening! If the American left can “do-something” to get rid of guns (or ammunition) in the U.S., they absolutely will. As numerous nations have proved, America has remained America largely because of the Second Amendment.

Recently, the idea that America needs to be “fundamentally transformed” has reached the highest levels of the left. The quickest way for this to happen would be to take guns from law-abiding Americans. We largely surrendered to "do-somethingism" on COVID, we should never make that mistake with guns.

Leak of Dobbs Decision Shines Further Light on the Evils of the Modern Left

For decades, the American left has furthered its agenda via leftists on U.S. courts. Thus, as I have previously noted, in order to get their way on a wide array of issues—abortion, marriage, LGBT issues, immigration, and the like—democrats have not had to win elections. They merely needed control of the courts. With right-minded originalists replacing authoritarian leftists on courts throughout America, the left’s hold on state and federal courts (much credit to President Trump!) has waned. This is especially true with the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).

Given its obsession with sex, among leftists, no issues are held in higher regard than abortion and anything related to the perverse LGBTQMYNAMEISLEGION agenda. Sexual perversion has become a sacrament among the modern left , and tens-of-millions of the most helpless and defenseless among us have literally been sacrificed in the name of “Do as Thou Wilt” in the sexual realm. Because they’ve been unable to get it done legislatively, much of the American left’s agenda accomplishments on these matters have happened via U.S. courts.

Thus the American left’s vitriolic reaction upon the egregious leak of a supposed SCOTUS majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson—which would overturn Roe v. Wade—should surprise no one. The leak was almost certainly a political stunt intended to intimidate pro-life justices, politicians, and citizens alike. This is what those who have made a god of government do. The left should make note: What the government giveth, the government can taketh away.

When one makes a god of government, virtually everything gets politicized. When most everything is politicized, much gets perverted. To keep their evil agenda alive, the left must constantly distort, deceive, and demonize. This was on clear display after the Dobbs opinion leak.

After the leak was announced, Hillary Clinton tweeted that reversing Roe would “will kill and subjugate women.” President Biden wondered if the next move for conservatives (i.e. the “MAGA crowd”) would be to make laws that prevent “children who are LGBT” from being in “classrooms with other children.”

Vice President Kamala Harris used the tired argument that “opponents of Roe want to punish women and take away their rights to make decisions about their own bodies.” Democrat representative Hakeem Jeffries added that the Dobbs opinion happened because the “radical right stole two seats on the Supreme Court.” References to The Handmaid’s Tale and the Dark Ages were rampant (thanks Libs of TikTok!).

The idea that reversing Roe would end “access to abortion” in the U.S. was a common refrain among the hyperbolic left. As many on the right side of this issue have long pointed out, this is nowhere close to the truth. Even if Roe is finally overturned—because such a decision would merely return the matter to individual states—tragically, throughout much of America, abortion would remain as legal as it is today. Many Democrat-dominated states have been expanding their abortion laws in anticipation of the fall of Roe.

The anger on display by leftists after the Dobbs leak is revealing and scary. A recent Mollie Hemingway encounter at the Supreme Court was sadly not that uncommon:

As now often is the case with the LGBTQMYNAMEISLEGION apologists (e.g., “Drag Queen Story Hour” and the like), pro-abortionists haven become more brazen in their defense of their so-called “right” to kill the most helpless and defenseless among us. Demonic-like anger is frequently on display when dealing with pro-abortionists. Decades of silence by many Christians—most tellingly, even during church services—on these grave moral issues has emboldened those steeped in darkness. This MUST change!

The calls for violence after the Dobbs leak were not hard to find. This was well chronicled by Jordan Boyd at The Federalist. Shortly after the leak surfaced, Ian Millhiser, a senior correspondent at Vox, tweeted, “Seriously, shout out to whoever the hero was within the Supreme Court who said ‘f-ck it! Let’s burn this place down.’”

Ms. Boyd also notes,

Other blue checkmarks on Twitter called for the nation, its institutions, and the highest court in the land to literally and figuratively burn to the ground.

Journalists were among the greatest offenders who publicly endorsed violence against justices who vote in favor of returning the abortion lawmaking back to the states.

When conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey noted that “conservative justices will have their lives and the lives of their families threatened,” The Nation’s Washington D.C. Correspondent Aída Chávez replied “good.”

Two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Laurie Garrett directly threatened Justice Samuel Alito, who reportedly authored the majority opinion, according to Politico.

“OK, Alito, I’ll call your ‘enflamed debate’ & ‘deepened division’ and raise you with millions of angry women in the streets. You #GOP folks want to play poker? Show your hand and watch what happens,” she wrote.

Given the wicked Summer of Rage that we witnessed in 2020, none of this should be taken lightly. Additionally, the left is now directly threatening conservative Supreme Court Justices. As Breitbart reports,

Justices John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Amy Coney Barrett, Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch are all targets by an organization called, “Ruth Sent Us.” The organization has published the justices’ supposed home addresses online for the radical protestors to locate…

The website also asked protestors to “rise up May 8-15 and beyond… At the homes of the six extremist justices, three in Virginia and three in Maryland.” The site says the main protest is scheduled for May 11.

Again, none of this should be taken lightly. We’ve seen the awful consequences of leftist policies on plain display for years now in the Democrat-dominated cities across America. Arson, thefts, assaults, murders, and the like have exploded where leftism rules and leftists abound. If given enough cover by their allies in the drive-by media and the Democrat Party, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see violence visited upon conservative Justices.

However—and let this be a lesson to you John Roberts—this is NOT a time for weakness! The left cannot be appeased. They must be defeated—politically, spiritually, and so on. The best defense against their rampant evil is the light of the truth, whatever consequences it brings.

NC Lt. Governor Mark Robinson Delivers the Truth on the "Demonic" Transgender Movement

I'm not sure how old this is--The Liberty Daily refers to it as "resurfaced video"--but here is North Carolina's republican Lt. Governor, Mark Robinson telling the truth on the EVIL transgender agenda:

HALLELUJAH and AMEN!!! The world needs more of this! And take note Christians--especially pastors and teachers--WE NEED MORE OF THIS IN THE CHURCH!!! If Christians won't boldly tell the truth on this evil, who will?! The only thing that needs to be added here is, the world needs to hear--and yes, even from the pulpit--and hear often what political party in America has aided and abetted this EVIL in America. Of course, that would be the Democrat Party.

As I have said before, today's Democrat Party is led almost exclusively by corrupt individuals who are beholden to an evil agenda. They are on the wrong side of the truth on most every issue. This is certainly true when it comes to everything in the EVIL LBGTQMYNAMEISLEGION agenda.

Thank you, Mark Robinson, and may God bless you as only He can!

The “Transgender” Endgame

While listening to the Rush Limbaugh show this past Monday, I heard guest host Todd Herman interview an Australian pediatrician and professor on the issue of gender dysphoria and children. Near the end of the enlightening interview, in which the good doctor detailed the “serious and irreversible damage” done to gender dysphoric children given radical surgeries and hormones demanded by the perverse LGBT agenda, Mr. Herman asked the important question, “Why?”

I don’t recall the exact wording of Mr. Herman’s question, and RushLimbaugh.com does not provide a transcript for guest-hosted shows, but it was something along the lines of: Why have so many decided that the solution for children—children!—suffering from gender delusions is disfiguring surgeries and/or dangerous hormone treatments? The doctor didn’t have a good answer ready, but I think I know who’s really behind this evil and what the endgame is here.

First of all, let it be noted the lightning speed in which we’ve descended down this wicked slope. With nothing in science or morality to back the notion that “gender is a spectrum” or that one can actually “transition” from one sex to another, in less than a decade we’ve gone from the foolish and evil notion that marriage is whatever we define it to be, to sex (gender) is whatever we define it to be. And as is the case with same-sex “marriage,” children are again victims.

Not only children, but parents of vulnerable and deceived children are victims, as well. In early 2019, in Public Discourse, the journal of the Witherspoon Institute, five mothers anonymously published their concerns over their supposed “transgender” children. The first mother wrote,
I was shocked when my thirteen-year-old daughter told me she was really my transgender son…Where did she get the idea she was transgender? From a school presentation—at a school where over 5 percent of the student body called themselves trans or nonbinary, and where several students were already on hormones, and one had a mastectomy at the age of sixteen…

I took her to a gender clinician seeking expert guidance. Instead, he accepted her new identity and told me I must refer to my daughter with masculine pronouns, call her by a masculine name, and buy her a binder to flatten her breasts. He recommended no therapy, and there was no consideration of the social factors that obviously affected her thinking. I was directed to put her on puberty blocking drugs…
I have nowhere to go for proper help. Therapists are actively trained and socially pressured not to question these increasingly common identities. In Washington, DC, and many states with so-called conversion therapy bans, questioning a child’s belief that she is of the opposite sex is against the law.
…Parents like me must remain anonymous to maintain our children’s privacy, and because we face legal repercussions if our names are revealed. Parents who do not support their child’s gender identity risk being reported to Child Protective Services and losing custody of their children. In New Jersey, the Department of Education officially encourages schools to report such parents.

The other mothers detail similar horrors. They talk of children running away from home because their parents refused to use the “proper pronouns.” One mother details how the state of Oregon allowed her daughter,
at the age of seventeen, without my knowledge or consent—to change her name and legal gender in court, and to undergo a double mastectomy and a radical hysterectomy.
My once beautiful daughter is now nineteen years old, homeless, bearded, in extreme poverty, sterilized, not receiving mental health services, extremely mentally ill, and planning a radial forearm phalloplasty (a surgical procedure that removes part of her arm to construct a fake penis).
Make no mistake, as is the case with mass shooters, as deacon Jack Wilson recently reminded us, what we are dealing with here is not mere mental illness. This is evil—pure and simple evil right out of the pit of hell. We will not win this fight unless it is dealt with as such.

As was the case with same-sex “marriage,” this is another opportunity for those who want to rule their own world to thumb their noses at the laws of the Law Giver. The legalization of same-sex “marriage” was never really only about giving homosexuals the opportunity to “marry.” It was also always about sticking it to Christians and Christianity. In other words, as was the case with same-sex “marriage,” this is a war against the truth—especially when it comes to matters in the sexual realm.

As I’ve often noted, marriage is the oldest institution in the history of humanity—older than God’s covenant with the nation of Israel, older than The Law, older than the church. Marriage is one of the earliest truths revealed by God. If anything is true, marriage as the union of one man and one woman is true. No doubt having the U.S. Supreme Court—along with certain lawmakers—pervert such a long-held truth emboldened those who hate the truth.

Thus we shouldn’t be surprised that the next step for the wicked LGBT agenda is full social and legal embrace of “transgenderism.” After all, if a culture can be made to pervert something as foundational and long-held as marriage, why not target elementary biology? After all, in Scripture, one of the few things that precedes marriage is the fact that “God made them male and female.”

Thus, to stand against the idea that male and female are immutable, irreversible facts is to strike another blow against the idea that there’s such a thing as absolute truth to which we are all beholden. Note how far the radical left has already gotten with their perverse “transgender” agenda. Some of America’s largest medical associations, including the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics have been duped into supporting the evil “transgender” agenda. Likewise, state and local lawmakers along with many school districts across the U.S. have decided that gender is “fluid” and anyone—including the parents of children—who says anything to the contrary must be brought in line.

Of course, much of Hollywood is fully on board with this wickedness. Even dictionaries (that’s right, more than one!) have bought into the lies of the “transgender” agenda. If not for the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States, the U.S. military (of course, led by then President Barack Obama) would’ve continued their foolish embrace of “transgender” soldiers.

This “transgender” wickedness is another reason why Donald Trump was elected and why he continues to get support from those who love the truth. The sad, sorry fact is the Democrat Party is fully on board with this evil. Virtually everywhere the “transgender” agenda has taken hold, democrats rule. The onslaught will continue unless truth-loving Americans stop it. Otherwise, another moral domino will fall, and the left will move onto their next cause and target.

“Pride” Goes Before Destruction

My husband Trevor and I recently took our four children to Washington, D.C. for the first (and likely last) time. It was amazing to see the historic monuments and to tour the Capitol building and the museums. It is truly rich with history and tradition and grandeur.

What was not so amazing were the rainbow flags all over the city and the homeless encampments and the ghetto-like areas and the sirens at night and the filth. D.C. is a liberal cesspool, and it shows. I did all of the driving while we were there because Trevor was struggling with a pinched nerve. I wonder if the many, many honks that I received while driving around the city were the result of my “Choose Life” license plate or my driving skills. I’ll never know. But as you might imagine, we had some wonderful opportunities to teach our children about the very visible and tangible differences between our wonderful, conservative Northeast Georgia district versus life in the most liberal area of the country. I don’t think they will forget those lessons any time soon.

I have been sickened lately by all of the commercials and signs and shows touting “Pride” for the LGBT lifestyles. I get a bit confused by all of the initials that they use, and it seems that they keep adding more and more. Maybe when they’re finished we could just sing the “ABCs” to describe all of their various lifestyle “choices.”

I logged onto my AT&T account the other day and saw a rainbow globe as their new logo. A commercial for cosmetics company Sephora that airs multiple times during one of the shows that we watch is filled with men pretending to be women. Various commercials flash scenes of homosexual couples in their ads, seemingly to kowtow to that miniscule, militant portion of our population. Even an email that I received from our local grocery store, Kroger, the other day had a “Pride” section in it, detailing what Kroger is doing to help celebrate sin. And it seems that nearly every show and movie these days—even kids’ shows—have inserted some sort of transvestite character or homosexual or other similar perversity. Big companies and Hollywood are forcing this issue before our eyes in the hopes that we will begin to accept it as “normal.”

I recently read a quote by pastor and author, Francis Chan. He said, “In a postmodern culture obsessed with feelings and political correctness, the Church must stop apologizing for ‘the way that God thinks and acts and what He says is right and wrong.’” Pastor Chan is absolutely right. The rabid LGBTQXYZ movement is trying to browbeat those of us who agree with what God says about their lifestyle, and I’ve had enough. It doesn’t matter how much “pride” they show; their lifestyle choices will remain perverse, wrong, gross, and above (or below) all, sinful.

As parents and grandparents, we must be diligent in teaching our children and grandchildren that what God says is wrong is really wrong. They are being pulled away from the truth on these issues right and left. They are being indoctrinated in our public schools, and they are inundated with messages in the media that celebrate repulsive lifestyles.

When I pray with our children at night before bed, I often pray that God will help us to love what He loves and hate what He hates. We know from His Word that He loves people but hates sin. We need to follow His lead by loving those who are so miserable that they feel the need to look for acceptance and affirmation in perversity. I’ve read stories and watched interviews with people who came out of the evil LGBT lifestyle, and almost without fail, each one who turned to that lifestyle did so because of abusive situations in their childhoods. They felt so damaged and dirty that they turned to those with whom they felt they could be accepted and loved.

Maybe instead of celebrating and defending something that is destructive and harmful and immoral, we as a nation and as states and as communities and as individuals should put more value on counseling these people and praying for them and helping them to find true healing and hope. Some states are going so far as to make it illegal even to provide counseling for people struggling with these issues. What insanity!

Sometimes I feel like we are living in the story of The Emperor’s New Clothes, in which everyone sees that the emperor is really naked, but no one wants to speak up and tell him. Finally, a small child honestly and accurately exclaims, “But he hasn’t got anything on.” Even children know the truth about the LGBT agenda. They know that men and women go together and that men aren’t supposed to wear makeup and dresses. Let’s not be duped by the pressure of the crowd into supporting and believing in wickedness.

God said in Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” The rainbow was God’s idea and a symbol of His mercy for all mankind. Let’s take it back for purposes that are good and noble and pure. When it’s all said and done, I’d much rather stand by God’s side for all of eternity than on the side of political correctness on this earth.

We’re Not Battling “Craziness.” We're Battling Evil.

Ever since the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States, the American left has been—as my mother likes to put it—in “rare form.” Such “form” these last two years has resulted in obscene fits by individual leftists and, yes, liberal mobs. Someone should ask these petulant, angry leftists—as did my mother when she encountered a tantrum (usually from a child): Do you get a fever with those fits?

The answer is, of course, no, because—in spite of what many have implied as they’ve witnessed the rage, violence, and vulgarities so often employed by today’s liberals—we’re not dealing with sickness, or mere lunacy, craziness, stupidity, or even the deranged. These characterizations are tempting—I’ve used them myself—and often quite accurate, but they fail to describe best what we are dealing with.

As Selwyn Duke alluded to recently, and others noted more directly years ago, modern liberalism—aided and abetted by the democrat party—is a dastardly tool of the enemy of all mankind. It’s like a modern-day Mephistopheles luring hordes of Faustian fools with promises of worldly pleasure—especially sex—and perpetual provision from a paternal godless nanny state. Such dark pursuits consume their personal lives, and thus, their politics as well. This is what results when one makes a god of government.

Speaking of “dark pursuits,” it seems that witches now outnumber Presbyterians in the U.S. Speaking of witches, it seems the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation brought them even more into the mainstream of modern liberalism. So much so that, now that we’ve entered the Kavanaugh-era of the Supreme Court, Vox saw fit to report on how modern-day witches are helping the “faithful” to cope.

Part of this coping involves placing hexes on Justice Kavanaugh. New York City witches have an event scheduled this coming Saturday (10/20/2018) for devoted occultists. A $10 donation is suggested for those attending. Half of the proceeds will be split between—of course—Planned Parenthood and an LGBT organization. Justice Kavanaugh is just the latest target of those invoking witchcraft in order to “magically bind” President Trump and his administration.

As Rod Dreher implies, it’s no surprise that witchcraft attracts feminazis who wish to rebel against age-old family norms and anything remotely resembling Christianity. Thus, it’s also little surprise that witchcraft fits so nicely under the tent of modern liberalism.

It seems Arizona democrat Kyrsten Sinema, who’s battling Colonel Martha McSally—a former fighter pilot and combat veteran—for Jeff Flake’s seat in the U.S. Senate, has long been impressed with those who invoke the “dark arts.” As the Washington Examiner notes,
It was during the height of the Iraq War when Sinema, then a far-left protest organizer, summoned supernatural help to stop the Iraq War.

Emails obtained by the Washington Examiner show Sinema inviting a prominent coven of feminist witches in Arizona called Pagan Cluster to celebrate International Women’s Day and to protest the war in March of 2003. Code Pink protesters wore pink, obviously enough, and the Women in Black wore black. But Sinema encouraged the witches to wear “colorful clothing and come ready to dance, twirl, and stay in touch with your inner creativity and with the Earth.”
Today’s liberalism isn’t merely “intrinsically uncivil,” but rather inherently evil. What else would you call a cause so devoted to killing the most innocent and helpless among us? What else would you call a cause so devoted to keeping legal the gruesome act of killing the most innocent and helpless among us that they would stoop to the disgraceful display (including witchcraft) witnessed during the Kavanaugh confirmation?

What else would you call a cause that is so devoted to the perverse LGBT agenda? What else would you call a cause that deliberately seeks to ruin Christian business owners because they refuse to bow to the perverse LGBT agenda? What else would you call a cause that refuses to acknowledge who is a male and who is a female—and makes expensive and oppressive public policy based on such absurdities?

Whether a baker, a florist, a coach, a campus speaker, an insurance company, a fast food chain, a Supreme Court justice, or the president of the United States, anyone or anything who stands in the way of the wicked efforts of American liberals to remake our nation into a pagan utopia has become a target of the angry, vengeful left. Ugly mob tactics (which are encouraged by elected democrats) and witchcraft (which, as noted above, was embraced by wannabe-elected democrats) are just two of the despicable means employed by those corrupted by liberalism.

We should be somewhat thankful for the mobs and the witches operating so openly. With such clear “nastiness,” the mask further slips from what the modern democrat party really represents. As Sun-Tzu reveals, “In the midst of chaos, there is opportunity.”

The more subtle strategies employed by liberals are more dangerous, because they’re more effective. The devil’s more deadly when he operates ignored and unseen for what he really is. “Healthcare is a right.” “Love is love.” “Women have the right to choose.” “Save the earth!” All of these are much more effective than hexes, ignorant chanting and clawing at heavy locked doors like mindless zombies, shouting at your political opponents in restaurants, or physically assaulting those with whom you disagree.

The recent political victories of Donald Trump and republicans have done more than improve our economy and discourage our enemies. By taking power from the left, they’ve helped bring darkness into the light. As Verbal Kint put it, “the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.” With today’s liberals fighting so desperately to hold on to, or regain political power, that trick is getting harder to pull off.

Another School Shooting: Why and What Should We Do?

Two days before the recent mass murder of students at a Santa Fe high school in Texas, very near my home, a 13-year-old girl was killed when the car her father was driving hydroplaned and collided with a school bus. The girl’s father—who was also seriously injured—may face vehicular homicide charges because his tires were too slick.

Two weeks ago we endured the third anniversary of the death of my beloved pastor and father-in-law, David Fitzpatrick. David was killed by an impaired (alcohol and drugs), hit-and-run motorist. David’s killer pleaded guilty to first degree vehicular homicide, among other charges, and is now spending (hopefully) many years in prison.

Last month, just minutes from our home, a man with a history of domestic violence murdered his ex-wife and her sister, shot and wounded a 16-year old, and then killed himself. Thirteen-year-old and two-year-old children also in the home were spared serious injury.

On average, there are about 50 homicides a day in the U.S. Whether through criminal neglect or murderous intent, upon the sudden and tragic death of a loved one—among a myriad of other questions—each day in the U.S., thousands of Americans are left to ask “Why?”

I recall vividly the gut-wrenching moments on May 4, 2015 when we knew there was a bicyclist down in the area where my father-in-law used to ride. The calls to David’s cell phone that would never be answered; the rushed and lonely drive from my job to the crash site, still not knowing for sure whether David was alive; the moment I encountered the Georgia State Patrol officer who confirmed our worst fears; pulling into my mother-in-law’s driveway and watching her, my wife, and my wife’s sister awash in grief; attempting to comfort our four children; making the phone calls to David’s and Margie’s siblings, my parents, et al, telling them of the terrible news—like so many others who deal with such a loss, all of this sent me to an awful place I had never before been and never want to return.

What’s more, the investigation into David’s death led us to discover that his killer had a decades-long criminal past (including multiple drug-related crimes) that was ignored—due to a lack of proper inquiry—by our local law enforcement when he was on trial for other charges in 2010. If the judge then had been aware of these past convictions, David’s killer almost certainly would have then faced serious jail time instead of mere probation. We will always wonder if David might still be alive if the district attorney’s office had done its job in 2010 and presented the evidence needed to put his killer behind bars. As is often the case in these tragedies, we sometimes wonder: would this have changed things? And: how do we prevent this from happening again?

Thus, after once again witnessing students slaughtered at the hands of a lone gunman bent on evil, I understand—though I typically strongly disagree with—those who want “action” from their government on “gun control.” I also understand those asking, “Why did this happen to us?”

As unpopular as this is likely to be, I’m going to say it anyway. The answer to “why” these dreadful things happen is nearly as old as creation itself: sin. As my late father-in-law would sometimes point out in his sermons, if you are hurting, if you are suffering, it is almost always due to one of two things: your sin or the sin of another. Just prior to the first murder in the history of humanity, God warned Cain,
If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.
The very next verse describes Cain murdering his brother Abel. Cain—like the rest of us—should have learned from the failure of his father and mother: walk with God and live in peace, or go your own way, do your own thing—i.e., rule your own world—and live in fear and suffering. Whether we like to admit it or not, operating out of our own selfish desires, each of us is capable of terrible things.

Most of us do not think ourselves capable of murder, but Jesus warned us that anger in our hearts makes us “subject to judgment.” On countless moral matters we have ignored the Word of God and gone our own way. This is the ultimate problem facing the world, and there’s only one solution.

This has always been the case. From very near the beginning of time, human beings have been killing one another, stealing from one another, enslaving one another, sexually abusing one another, and so on. God gave a perfect Law—upon which all other human laws should be based—to reveal to us what is right and what is wrong. Knowing that none of us is capable of perfectly keeping His Law, and thus were (and are) “guilty” of breaking all of it, God made a Way that we all might be “saved.”

Another unpopular sentiment: in the eyes of God, your sin and my sin make us just as guilty as a mass murderer. What’s more, because of our desire to elevate human “wisdom” and determine truth for ourselves while at the same time ignoring God’s wisdom and His eternal truths, we have become blind to what is sin, or “evil.”

For example, large swaths of our culture think that hunting for sport is morally unacceptable but killing an unborn child is okay. Additionally, many Americans—especially so-called “millennials”—believe the “right” to do whatever one wishes in the sexual realm is more important than freedom of speech or freedom of religion.

In other words, and as most in their right-minds well know, many in our culture have stooped to calling what is good evil and what is evil good. To say that marriage is only the union of one man and one woman—in other words, agreeing with God on the matter—will quickly get one labeled a “bigot.” To oppose the radically perverse gender agenda of the modern left—e.g., simply pointing out the biological differences between a male and a female—can draw protests and threats of physical or financial harm.

Since Columbine (1999), using a very liberal definition of a “school shooting,” there have been 287 deaths as the result of someone wielding a gun at or near a school. In that same period, millions of children have been slaughtered in the womb. Countless children and adults alike have suffered—many to the point of death—as the result of divorce, “shacking up,” sexual promiscuity, and the like.

To stem the tide of evil, we must encourage a culture—in our personal lives, as well as our homes, businesses, schools, and government—that embraces the eternal truths of our Almighty God. We will never completely eliminate, or solve the problems of, evil in this world. We will not make any real progress—something that can be achieved—towards defeating evil in this world unless we recognize truly what is evil and what is to be done about it.

Guns, Men, and Murder: The Data

I love guns. I’ve been around them all of my life, and I currently own several—for hunting and self-defense. One of my most memorable gifts growing up was a single-shot 410 shotgun (that I got for Christmas when I was 12). Before I was old enough to own a real gun, my friends and I were quite skilled in using all sorts of scrap wood, duct tape, nails, and so on to manufacture the most magnificent replicas. Back then, if I was not playing with some sort of ball, I was in some sort of battle.

Not all of my experiences with guns have been pleasant. One of the toughest moments in the life of my family happened when I was 17. At the time, my 13-year-old brother was hunting turkeys near our home. A tragic accident with a faulty double-barreled 12-gauge shotgun cost him his right arm.

Nevertheless, soon after he had healed from having his arm amputated, my brother was learning to shoot—even long guns and compound bows

My brother shooting a compound bow--with one arm.

—with one arm. (He also played high school baseball and football with one arm.) Now in his mid-forties, he still hunts (and fishes) to this day. In other words, even enduring a traumatic and tragic accident involving a gun as a young teenager, neither he—nor the rest of us close to him—ever let a fear or a hatred of guns creep into our psyche.

After another horrific shooting at a “gun-free” government school, those corrupted by a liberal worldview would have all of us share their fear and hatred (warning: language) of guns, or at least their hatred of guns in the hands of those who stand opposed to a liberal, big-government agenda.

Thus, instead of more good guys with guns, time and again liberals insist that the answer to stopping those bent on doing evil with powerful weapons is to take guns from the good guys. The infamous Sheriff Scott Israel of Broward County, FL again made this foolish argument—tragically to “thunderous applause”—when debating the NRA’s Dana Loesch.

Responding to Loesch and pushing democrat talking points to a (mostly) like-minded audience, Israel told the Parkland crowd, “You just told this group of people that you are standing up for them. You’re not standing up for them until you say, ‘I want less weapons.’” Of course, “less weapons” means “less guns,” and “less guns” means elect more democrats so that we can have—among many other terrible outcomes—a bigger government with more “gun control” laws. As the data reveals, in the United States, fewer guns or more gun control laws do NOT equal less murder.

Last year it was widely reported that the vast majority of murders in the U.S. occur within a very small portion of the country. More than half of all murders in the U.S. occurred within just two percent of the counties. Over two-thirds (68 percent) of the murders in America occurred within only five percent of the counties. (There are 3,141 counties, or county equivalents, in the U.S.)

This table shows the worst three percent of counties, in which almost 60 percent of the murders occur. Almost all of these counties are in large urban areas, where democrats rule. Of course, large populations will typically have more murders. What we should consider in this debate is the murder rate in these counties.

Of the 10 worst counties for the number of murders, five of them are also among the worst when it comes to murder rate. Of the 30 counties with the highest murder rate, 19 of them are in the worst three percent for total number of murders. But whether one considers the sheer number of murders, or the murder rate, the other telling and significant piece of data in our debate is the presence of guns in these areas.

City-Data lists the top 101 counties when it comes to “lowest percentage of residents that keep firearms around their homes” and “highest percentage of residents that keep firearms around their homes.” As the table linked above also reveals, of the three percent of counties—95 total counties—with the highest number of murders, 43 of these counties are in the top 101 when it comes to lowest rates of gun ownership.

Only 19 of these counties are in the top 101 when it comes to highest rates of gun ownership. Of the 10 counties in the U.S. with the most murders, all are in the top 101 when it comes to lowest rates of gun ownership.

Additionally, as this table reveals, the overall murder rate for the top 101 of highest and lowest rates of gun ownership is virtually identical. The murder rate for the top 101 counties with the highest rates of gun ownership is 6.28 per 100,000. The murder rate for the top 101 counties with the lowest rates of gun ownership is 6.15 per 100,000. Also, of the 30 counties with the highest murder rate, nine of them are in the top 101 of lowest rates of gun ownership, while five of them are in the top 101 of highest rates of gun ownership.

At the state level—where data is more readily available—the numbers reveal the same: there’s no correlation between the presence of guns and the rate of murder. The average murder rate for the first 25 states (lowest half of gun ownership rates) is 5.0. The average murder rate ranking for the last 25 states (upper half of gun ownership rates) is 4.9. For the bottom 10 and top 10, the average is 4.2 and 4.3 respectively.

The average murder rate ranking for the first 25 states is 24.4. The average murder rate ranking for the last 25 states is 27.6. For the bottom 10 and top 10, the average is 22.8 and 23.7 respectively. Put simply, more guns does not mean more murder. And inversely, fewer guns does not mean fewer murders. Put another way, more laws against gun ownership has done almost nothing to reduce the rate of murder in America.

The only way to reduce murder is to recognize that it is an act of evil that must be dealt with from a proper political and spiritual perspective. Men murder because their hearts are dark. To stop them, we must meet force with force. To change men, we must get to their hearts. Sound legislation can work to protect us, but focusing on the weapon of murder and attempting to legislate away evil by targeting a tool is the height of folly.

Stop Mistaking Evil for Mental Illness

I know almost nothing of the mental condition of confessed mass murderer Nikolas Cruz, and almost certainly, neither do you. There are few, if any, who can give a reliable opinion of the young man’s psychiatric state as he walked into Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL and killed 17. Nevertheless, after his killing spree on Ash Wednesday, many in the media, along with the public at large, were willing at least to imply, if not directly describe, Mr. Cruz as someone who was “mentally disturbed,” “mentally ill,” “crazy,” a “nut-job,” a “psycho,” someone dealing with “mental health issues,” and so on.

Those with a wide array of varying political and spiritual worldviews were willing to paint Mr. Cruz as a mental defect. In his Tweet about the shooting, even President Trump noted that there were “So many signs that the Florida shooter was mentally disturbed…” In his official statement the day after the horrific incident, the President declared that he wanted to work with state and local officials to “tackle the difficult issue of mental health.”

However, it’s a disaster for the culture. As C.S. Lewis lamented in his essay, The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment, when it comes to crime and punishment, we too often are facing off with those who believe “that all crime is more or less pathological.” Thus, instead of the criminal “getting what he deserves”—what used to be called “justice”—we must heal or cure him, and, as Lewis puts it, “punishment becomes therapeutic.”

This “humanitarian” approach removes from punishment the concept of “Desert.” As Lewis puts it:
[The] concept of Desert is the only connecting link between punishment and justice. It is only as deserved or undeserved that a sentence can be just or unjust…Thus when we cease to consider what the criminal deserves and consider only what will cure him or deter others, we have tacitly removed him from the sphere of justice altogether; instead of a person, a subject of rights, we now have a mere object, a patient, a ‘case’.
And when a wicked government has in its hands such a view of crime and punishment, they will possess a “finer instrument of tyranny than wickedness ever had before. For if crime and disease are to be regarded as the same thing, it follows that any state of mind which masters choose to call ‘disease’ can be treated as crime; and compulsory cured.” As Lewis adds,
We know that one school of psychology already regards religion as a neurosis. When this particular neurosis becomes inconvenient to government, what is to hinder government from proceeding to ‘cure’ it?
Joy Behar—and a host of others, I imagine—would not be disappointed with such a government.

What’s more, when certain behaviors go from crimes to be punished to diseases to be cured, we remove the power of sentencing from jurists and place it in the hands of “doctors,” who often know little of truth and justice. Lacking in such critical knowledge, left to their own “wisdom,” it would not be far-fetched to see these “doctors” decide that some diseases—that were once considered crimes—are no longer crimes or diseases. Are we not now witnessing this, especially when it comes to things in the sexual realm?

For example, as I noted several years ago, in spite of the long history of treating “transsexuality” as a disorder that needed to be cured, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (the DSM 5) that was released in early 2013 removed “gender identity disorder” from its list of disorders. It was removed because, as the Associated Press recently put it, “a growing faction of medical experts who no longer see this as something to be fixed.”

In other words, with no real science to support its conclusions, by mere decision by its board of trustees, the American Psychiatric Association (APA)—who owns and publishes the DSM—decided that “gender nonconformity is not in itself a mental disorder.” In other words, our so-called best psychological experts have now decided that there’s nothing wrong with men who wish to pretend they are women, and vice-versa.

I’ve spent many columns detailing the disasters that have resulted from such perverse thinking, but as time moves on and such perversion continues to prevail, the list of disastrous consequences grows. Recent reports reveal that Juvenile Court Judge Sylvia Hendon has permanently removed an Ohio teenager from her parents’ home because of the parents’ refusal to support their daughter’s decision to identify as a boy. In particular, they refused to permit their daughter to receive dangerous hormone therapy to aid in her gender “transition.”

Tony Perkins also notes,
What’s especially alarming is that a lawyer representing the child – as well as Donald Clancy of the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office – cited the parents’ religious beliefs as an argument for robbing them of their rights! The mom and dad are being criticized for seeking out a Christian therapist for their daughter and for daring to send her to Catholic school.
And thus the wicked cycle is complete: what was once considered evil and/or criminal, or at least bad behavior, is now considered sickness; what once was considered sickness is now considered normal and healthy; and what was once considered normal, wise, or moral behavior is now punished by our “enlightened” law.

We were warned of such folly by no less than those within the psychiatric community. Doctor Allen Frances, chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Duke University, who chaired the task force that produced the DSM 4, called the release of the “deeply flawed” DSM 5 “the saddest moment in my 45 year career of studying, practicing, and teaching psychiatry.”

In addition to other concerns, Dr. Frances lamented the addition of such “disorders” as Disruptive Mood Dysregulation which, according to Frances, “will turn temper tantrums into a mental disorder.” Also, “Normal grief will become Major Depressive Disorder” and the DSM 5 “will likely trigger a fad of Adult Attention Deficit Disorder [you've probably seen the commercials] leading to widespread misuse of stimulant drugs for performance enhancement and recreation.”

Frances should not be surprised. Practicing psychotherapist Gary Greenburg says that not one of the disorders in the DSM is real. Greenburg claims that the DSM is nothing more than an exercise in rhetoric; an attempt to legitimize the practice of psychiatry. “Can you define mental illness?” The Atlantic asked Greenburg. “No. Nobody can,” he replied.

In a culture that is increasingly more hesitant to use the word “evil,” Greenburg concludes that having the APA classify certain behaviors as “disorders” is a way to remove the moral aspect behind certain behaviors.

After all, if someone is sick, then he or she is not responsible for his or her behavior. (What’s more, he can then be treated—with expensive drugs and therapy, of course.) And if someone’s “sickness” is suddenly no longer a sickness, and if it is no longer immoral, then we can celebrate and welcome him into our ever more tolerant society.

Such thinking has had a devastating effect on parenting. Instead of dealing with their child’s bad behavior as something that required good moral discipline, many parents—who have become increasingly ignorant of what is moral behavior—are simply looking to provide their misbehaving children with medication or therapy. Thus, millions of U.S. children are now on powerful psychotic drugs.

One of the least-reported aspects of these mass-murderers like Nikolas Cruz is how many of them were on psychiatric medications. This isn’t to imply that drugs or mental illness are to blame for their horrific behavior but rather to note that likely instead of a proper moral upbringing, these killers were given drugs and therapy.

A culture that confuses evil for sickness and refuses to see evil for what it is and deal with it accordingly does no favors for those guilty of evil, their victims, the culture at large, or those who are truly mentally ill.

As the Modern Left Demonstrates, Evil Craves the Darkness

One of my favorite scenes in Tolkien’s The Hobbit is the riddle-battle between Bilbo and the creature Gollum that took place in the dark, deep caverns beneath the Misty Mountains. (I can remember when I first read Tolkien’s classic and came upon the riddles. I tried not to read ahead to see if I could solve them myself.) Bilbo, having accidentally fallen into the mysterious place, wanted the way out (which Gollum knew), and Gollum wanted to make a meal of the plump Hobbit. Thus a riddle challenge was issued and accepted.

Toward the end, a frustrated Gollum presented Bilbo with,

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

Carrying on the theme of the last sentence, from a more spiritual perspective, an additional clue might read:

It keeps secrets, and hides sin,
Guarding the evil that lurks within.

The answer: darkness.

The Gospel of John informs us that, “The Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness more than light, because their deeds were evil.” In other words, we’ve all done shameful (sinful) things we want to hide from others—maybe everyone, and maybe for all time—and we seek comfort in the darkness. And as Scripture implies, mankind’s desire for darkness is as old as sin itself. The modern political and moral climate in the U.S. provides a great lesson here.

As the left seeks to stifle debate (“the debate is over!”), distort facts and information, suppress facts and information that contradict liberal dogma, seek “safe spaces” from events or speech with which they disagree, and so on, America is seemingly headed for a new “Dark Age.” Whether colleges and universities, the media, the Democrat Party, the homosexual agenda, the abortion industry, the global warming industry—virtually every bastion of liberal thought is steeped in darkness. A couple of recent events shed some light into the dark efforts of the left.

As I alluded to a couple of weeks ago, Elton John and his homosexual partner—what some now refer to as John’s “husband”—David Furnish have gone to great lengths to guard the image of their perverse relationship—what some call a “marriage.” As was noted in my previous piece (and by many others over the last several months), in an effort to hide their non-monogamous sexual activity, John and Furnish have made extensive use of the British legal system. In a sad attempt to keep as many in the dark as possible concerning their stereotypical homosexual lifestyle, Sir Elton and Furnish have also resorted to using Web Sheriff ® to threaten individuals worldwide (and of course, not subject to the British courts) who have shed light on their sham of a “marriage.”

About a week after my November 27 piece that made mention of John and Furnish’s “open marriage,” yours truly received such a threat via an email from Web Sheriff. Web Sheriff is an anti-piracy company that is most noted for its monitoring of websites that allow for the illegal download of copyrighted material (especially music and film). However, for the right amount of money, it seems one can hire Web Sheriff to try to intimidate online sources from presenting (truthful) information that Web Sheriff clients might find uncomfortable.

The email I received is exactly like the one mentioned here from May of this year. Other websites and news organizations have received similar (empty) legal threats from Web Sheriff. As one of the other websites here artfully put it, Web Sheriff is “full of sh*t.” There is nothing here for me to be concerned with legally because no copyright has been infringed upon (as the email threat implies), and most importantly: I do not live in England, nor do I operate anywhere that is subject to British law. Again, this is nothing more than an attempt to keep in the dark the truth about marriage and homosexuality.

As eager as many are to hide the truth on homosexuality, there is an equal effort to obscure and distort the facts when it comes to life in the womb. The French provide the latest sensational example here. George Will recently gave the sad account of the widespread efforts in France to suppress the facts when it comes to human beings born with Down syndrome. (There were other earlier reports on this as well.) .

In early November France’s Conseil d’État (State Council—France’s Supreme Court) upheld the ban on an award-winning video entitled “Dear Future Mom” that features happy children and young adults with Down syndrome. The French Broadcasting Council first banned the video when it was offered as a commercial. As Will notes, the French court called the video “inappropriate” for French television, and said that the video’s depiction of happy Down syndrome children is “likely to disturb the conscience of women who had lawfully made different personal life choices.” In other words, the French courts think it best that the conscience of French women who’ve killed their unborn Down syndrome children (which, according to some reports, happens in about 96% of cases)—not to mention those whose minds might be changed on the matter—remain in the dark.

Even the Huffington Post ran a piece that was critical of the French ban. Curious about the response to a pro-life piece on the Huffington Post, I scanned the comments at the end. One in particular is revealing of the liberal mindset when it comes to abortion. A female pro-abortionist declared,
This article isn't balanced…Articles written this way can be dangerous as they trigger strong negative emotions and hate for people with differing views…From what I can see, reading french articles, the Counsel has said that in terms of public interest it’s more important to “protect the right to have an abortion” over “knowing children with Down's can be happy.”
This attitude and the behavior of the French are very typical when it comes to killing children in the womb, because, of course, for the mind corrupted by liberalism, the “right” to kill children in the womb must be protected at almost any cost (because of the “right” to have sex without any consequences). Abortion apologists generally despise any effort to shine light on life in the womb, and they will go to great lengths to allow the grisly practice of abortion to continue. However, as I noted last year, as science and technology advance, the deception about this “choice” is getting much more difficult for liberals. Isn’t it interesting how real science always tends to verify what sound morality always revealed?

As Catholic scholar George Weigel implies, what we are dealing with here is a godless philosophy, devoted to a coercive state (which is why we see liberals go berserk when they lose elections), that ignores the very fabric of reality. And when you are trying to ignore or distort reality, darkness is a comfortable place.
