Fueled by Liberalism, Baltimore Erupts

Make no mistake: This will happen again, and it will continue to happen in cities and towns all across the U.S. where liberalism is entrenched. Baltimore is just the latest foul episode. As much as some would like for this to be about race, this is about the rotten fruit of a political philosophy and a worldview that, among other things, eschews the notions of absolute truth, personal responsibility, sound morality, individual liberty, the biblical family model, and a host of other proper principles necessary for good government.

Whether Ferguson, Detroit, St. Louis, Baltimore, or any other significant American municipality dominated by liberals, it's just a matter of time until the next ugly eruption. As I asked last year--over four months prior to the Michael Brown incident--"Is there anything liberalism can't corrupt?" From the conscience to communities to corporations to families, churches, schools, and government, its destruction seems to know no bounds.

As I noted, the political machine in most every large U.S. city is dominated by Democrats, and has been for decades. And as Rush asked earlier today, why is the Democrat base so unhappy?

"Why are they unhappier than ever? You've had the Democrat Party supposedly paving the way for them for 50 years. You've had the Democrat Party running inference for them for 50 years. The Democrat Party promising to get even with all those racist conservatives and Republicans. The Democrat Party promising that whatever goes wrong, they're gonna fix. The Democrat Party making it clear that they are the examples of these downtrodden people.

"These downtrodden people are angrier than they've ever been! They're unhappier than they've ever been. They're more agitated than they've ever been. The urban core. Obama's base!"
And of course, no matter how bad it gets, they continue to vote for liberals. Because somehow, it's always the fault of conservatives.

While Baltimore's democrat mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake (of course, a modern full-fledged feminazi must have a hyphenated last name) gave the rioters "space to destroy," John Angelos, Baltimore Orioles' executive vice-president and son of the majority owner of the Orioles Peter Angelos, was quick to perpetuate the victim status of those destroying his city (which got the Orioles game cancelled today).

According to the Washington Times, the younger Angelos wrote of his concern for

"the past four-decade period during which an American political elite have shipped middle class and working class jobs away from Baltimore and cities and towns around the US to 3rd-world dictatorships like China," which he said has sent "tens of millions of good hard working Americans into economic devastation" and "an ever-declining standard of living and suffering."
"The innocent working families of all backgrounds whose lives and dreams have been cut short by excessive violence, surveillance and other abuses of the bill of rights by government pay the true price, and ultimate price, and one that far exceeds the importance of any kid's game played tonight, or ever, at Camden Yards," Mr. Angelos continued
"We need to keep in mind people are suffering and dying around the US and while we are thankful no one was injured at Camden Yards, there is a far bigger picture for poor Americans in Baltimore and everywhere who don’t have jobs and are losing economic, civil and legal rights and this … makes inconvenience at a ball game irrelevant in light of the needless suffering government is inflicting upon ordinary Americans," he wrote.
Of course, John and his father Peter Angelos are life-long democrats. Thus, this can't be the fault of those who are stalking the streets, smashing windows, burning cars, and attacking the police. Something else--or better--someone else must be to blame. And if only we would elect liberals, all this will change.

P.S. While few know the exact circumstances of Freddie Gray's death, one thing is clear: he was no stranger to the police. Take note of his rap sheet:
  • March 20, 2015: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
  • March 13, 2015: Malicious destruction of property, second-degree assault
  • January 20, 2015: Fourth-degree burglary, trespassing

  1. Thanks for saying this Trevor! (I had no idea about the man's criminal record. Wow!) When will the voters in these cities learn!

  2. Trevor, it never ceases to amaze me when I witness the moral depths to which you will sink in order to push your agenda. Does the fact that Freddie Gray had an extensive rap sheet excuse the misuse of police procedure and equipment by duly sworn officers to intentionally cause him harm? The alleged act against Gray after he was taken into police custody and handcuffed (if proven in court) constitutes criminal misconduct and very likely manslaughter. His crime that particular day: "running from the cops."

Further, you have listed Freddie Grey's ARREST record. This is not his record of criminal convictions. Sloppy work. Consider this: Martin Luther King, Jesus Christ, and most of Jesus' disciples had arrest records too. Would you also blame them if they had been intentionally mishandled and injured (or killed) by the cops?

This is only the latest example of your real work as a shill and a sycophant for the divisive agenda of the neocon establishment. You masquerade as a concerned Christian, but you're demonstrably not. For instance, would Jesus have done what you just did to Freddie Grey?

Perhaps more revealing, why have you been largely silent about the South Carolina incident in which an unarmed black man named Walter Scott was shot in the back 5 times by a white officer named Michael Slager? Perhaps calling for justice for Walter Scott doesn't serve your agenda, but smearing and demeaning a dead victim of police brutality (Freddie Grey) apparently does?

  3. For the record, the officer who drove the police transport van has acknowledged she gave Gray the quote "rough ride" treatment. In general terms, this coercive tactic would have had Gray placed into the van face-down on a steel floor, with his hands cuffed behind him. The door was shut, then the van was driven in a hazardous manner -typically a cycle of repeated acceleration and rapid deceleration. On acceleration, the detainee would slide back across the floor until his feet touched the back doors. On sudden deceleration (jamming on the brakes), the detainee would slide forward like a hockey puck on ice. His head would crash into the forward bulkhead and the mass of his body would be stopped by his skull and his neck. This is equivalent to being dropped on your head. Repeatedly.

  4. Yes, just as it was with Barabbas, Gray's criminal past is certainly relevant here. And no, I'm by no means "excusing" the police, but I refuse to lay the total blame at their feet. As Kevin Williamson of National Review points out (which I will link to in my headlines), "Would any sentient adult American be shocked to learn that Baltimore has a corrupt and feckless police department enabled by a corrupt and feckless city government?"

In other words, the Baltimore police dept. is plagued by the same thing that corrupts the rest of its city: liberalism.

And last I recall, there were no riots in South Carolina and the officer has been charged with murder.

  5. "When will they learn?"--Just goes to show how deep the corruption of liberalism runs.

  6. Trevor: "Gray's criminal past is certainly relevant here."

No man is to be judged and punished in the back of a police cruiser or transport van. If you believe Gray's record justifies this, you don't believe in the Founder's vision of America as a country based on justice, equal rights, and rule of law. Instead of that you support a form of vigilantism that goes beyond law much like the thugs who rioted in the streets after Gray's death. The only difference is one group of criminals has a badge.

    To repeat my last paragraph:
"Perhaps more revealing, why have you been largely silent about the South Carolina incident in which an unarmed black man named Walter Scott was shot in the back 5 times by a white officer named Michael Slager? Perhaps calling for justice for Walter Scott doesn't serve your agenda, but smearing and demeaning a dead victim of police brutality (Freddie Gray) apparently does?"

    And your reply?
"And last I recall, there were no riots in South Carolina and the officer has been charged with murder."

Perhaps there were no riots because justice was swift to react. This is probably due solely to the fact that a private citizen RECORDED the event with a cell phone camera. Without that fact, it is very likely in my opinion that a cover-up would have been attempted and you would be blaming the victim because he was black. Still, the fact that you don't think that incident worthy of comment is quite revealing of your bias. As I said, Jesus would not have smeared and demeaned the dead victim. It serves no purpose other than tossing red meat to a group of arrogant bigots whose interest and attention you crave. THAT is your real ministry.

  7. You seriously can't tell the difference between what's going on in Baltimore vs. Charleston? (And why bring Selma into this?! Apples and oranges.) This goes WAY beyond the actions of a policeman (or policemen). And I made no mention of race. Also, see more on the corrupting effects of liberalism here: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/417599/lefts-burning-cities-david-french

  8. Trevor, you already made the comparison to Ferguson, Missouri. I pointed out exactly how white and republican that government was *only* after you insinuated it was similar to Baltimore because it was quote "dominated by liberals". Maybe you should actually read that part of my rebuttal.

There's WAY more to my prior comments that you have chosen to casually blow off and pass up. For instance, you made reference to the death of Freddie Gray as quote "rotten fruit" of liberal policies and liberal government in Baltimore. That opens the floor to explore EVERY case of police brutality and the political demographics or ideology of the governments behind them. Therefore North Charleston SC, Ferguson, MO, and Selma Alabama ARE relevant. You're weak and you're a coward. You couldn't win a fair and honest debate with a 12 year old.

At this point I don't expect you to change and embrace truth and facts any more than Joseph Goebbels did. Like Goebbels, you are a man of strong convictions who will ultimately pass from this world unrepentant for the enormous damage his words caused to his fellow man.
